7/16/09 07:55 pm - So a heads up:

I really need to keep up with the writing and sending all these letters/postcards helps.

7/7/09 11:22 am - "Won't you miss me? Wouldn't you miss me at all?"

Roger Keith "Syd" Barrett: January 6th, 1946 - July 7th, 2006

I think I'm so sad, I can't put together pictures like I did for John. I still remembering finding out about his death like it was yesterday.

At least you're not sick or in pain anymore.
:(

Little tribute to come later when I have the energy.

This album is amazing. It's the Syd Barrett Tribute that David Gilmour, Rick Wright and David Bowie did. It's a few songs from the On An Island tour, and David sounds like he's crying during Dark Globe.

6/26/09 11:54 pm - John Alec Entwistle, 9 October 1944 – 27 June 2002

The world is so much dimmer (and quieter) without you. We miss you.

So by the time I taught myself the bass guitar at the age of 14, my hands were already pretty nimble. - John Entwistle )

Edit:
I didn't want to push down my post about John, so I'll add this here - though it doesn't seem too appropriate.

Here's my record collection, up on my facebook. Feel free to take a look and add me if you feel like it.

6/26/09 02:01 pm - Johnny never went marchin' home.

I haven't participated in a meme in ages. Here's one:

Now a meme.
+ Leave me a comment saying "MICK JAGGER TOTALLY JUST COVERED SEXY BACK".
+ I'll respond by asking you five questions so I can get to know you better.
+ Update your journal with the answers to the questions.
+ Include this explanation in the post and offer to ask other people questions.

The questions [info]erizabeff asked me:

1. What color would we paint the harem? I think Donovan and Syd are going to be in charge of painting the harem. Y/Y?
2. Should we have blinds or curtains at the harem? Curtains, because all those jealous groupies would be able to peer through blinds. But we could have like, blackout curtains and cover them with really pretty fabric on the inside. Besides the amazing sunlight is a bitch when you're hungover, and I bet everyone residing at the harem will agree with me.
3. Should we have pink flamingos or lawn gnomes? Either way they're going to get blown up.
4. Do you think there's a way to keep Moonie from esploding the fountain? *points at flamingo/gnome question*
5. What shall it be chocolate or soda? Uhhh... Chocolate soda. Duh.

6/24/09 08:35 pm - "You pick the place and I'll choose the time. And I'll climb the hill in my own way."

So I haven't been here for ages.

I don't really know what to post about.

100.3 the Sound is playing Floyd's album "Meddle" which warms my heart. But sadly on Album Sides Wednesday, they only play one side the whole way through. And they're playing side 1. Which is awesome, but not as awesome as side 2. I could have really gone for some Echoes coming from my radio. It would have fulfilled my life.

I guess I'll start getting back into the swing of things. But for now this might be it.

5/28/09 01:45 pm - "Mother did it need to be so high?"

Wanted to see who else could guess these.

Step 1: Put your music player on shuffle.
Step 2: Write down the first line(s) of the first 25 songs that play. (No matter how embarrassing)
Step 2a: Skip any song that has the title in the first line. (That ruins the point of the game) I'm just going to skip the part that they mention the song name, rather than the whole song.
Step 2b: Skip any song with no lyrics. (That makes guessing it rather hard.)
Step 3: Strike through the line when someone guesses it right.
Step 4: Looking them up is CHEATING!

1. "Crest fallen sidekick in an old cafe, never slept with a dream before he had to go away."
2. "You're such a wonder that I think I'll stay in bed."
3. "Though the world was hard and it's ways were set, he was young and he had so much ambition." [info]imalumberjack27 The Kinks - Arthur

5. "But if you're not coming back, I'll sleep eternally."
6. "I love you, 'cause you tell me all the things I want to know." [info]ringostarr64 The Beatles - Please Please Me

8. "Resting on my laurels and my Hardy's too."
9. "Well the time will come when the wind will shout..." [info]juliabydulia Tom Waits - All Stripped Down

5/19/09 07:03 am - BON ANNIVERSAIRE MON AMI

Happy birthday! Hope you're treated like royalty.

Pete Townshend Pictures, Images and Photos

Just a glimpse of your epic life )

5/18/09 12:18 am - I'M LISTENING TO THE GOOD/ORIGINAL "A QUICK ONE..." FUCK YOU GREEN DAY

DAVID GILMOUR AND I ARE BOTH "DAPPO DRAG"

http://en.genzu.net/sokumen/

I saw this on capslock_who and thought it was quite the brilliant waste of time.

xD

5/11/09 07:34 pm - I NEED YOUR HELP

This new computer is epic fail. Hardly any music is on it at all (only about 3 1/2 GBs which makes me want to cry - and nothing good).

I lost so many discographies, and all the loves of my life. Which sums up the fact I have basically no Who or Floyd D:< but send me anything and everything you wish to.

HELP ME. SEND ME STUFF TO HELP ME GET THROUGH MY NIGHTS OF ENDLESS CASE STUDY/PAPER WRITING.

Send or whatnot how ever you see fit.

email address: kayla.crow@gmail.com
and all that good stuff.

Normally I'd just use some sort of torrent, but my dad's on a trip about that, and since this is a shared computer, I have to respect his decision.

5/5/09 02:55 pm - Bon anniversaire!

Birthday wishes for Michael Palin. I wanna hear 'em people. >:3

4/30/09 08:32 pm - Though when I was 20 these problems would be behind me.

Internet, phone, and tv at home are down.

Dad's on a rampage.

Don't know how I'm responsible, but apparently I am.

Tried to help, but he just yells. And drinks.

Going to mom's to sleep, though I don't think it's a wise decision. Just need to get out.

Gotta work on my project that's late.

Gotta get some piece of mind.

Plus she's by that 24hr internet cafe, so I can go early in the morning to finish the project.

I could be curled up in some amazing gray sweater while he painted the night away... If only he'd notice me.

4/21/09 12:23 pm - At school, panicking over math. Like always.

So our computer is set up, well just about (need a new table for it so it can go in the third bedroom/storage/trophy room we have). Getting internet on April 27th, also my birthday. Can't wait. :)

4/1/09 09:15 am - Request:

Nothing important, will update when I have time.

Just putting it out there that I need some positive vibes this week, because I'm getting back up on stage after losing my voice and this fucking bug that took out not only my lungs and sinuses - but my voice. I sound like a congested drag queen.

Friday, I'm performing at my favorite open mic - and I'm hoping to play Dylan's "It's Alright Ma, I'm Only Bleeding" (vocally demanding) and The Who's "Going Mobile."

Need the positive energy and confidence I used to have.

I wanted to do an acoustic cover of Joy Division's "Love Will Tear Us Apart" just for kicks, but it hasn't been turning out right. And I'm tempted to to "Subterranean Homesick Blues" just so I can jam with Freeman. xD But he was so awesome, I'll look like fail.

3/12/09 09:44 pm - Quick update

Record shopping last night, and more next week, if I can make my way to LA. I found the clearance stuff hidden away yesterday >:D

+ The Who - Who Are You
+ John Entwistle - Too Late The Hero
+ Cream - Live Cream
+ David Gilmour - About Face

And then I got Elizabeth's awesome bday gift :DDDDDDDDD

The guy at Amoeba was totally into my hair (scene kid hair) and piercing, until I handed him the LPs. Oddest thing ever, "For someone who looks so cool, you such lame taste in music."

Asshat.

I could be all elitisty too if I worked there.

God I wish I could work there.

Want to go to Ian's and listen to my Taj Mahal album, but might have to wait 'til next week. Our record player is still broken, and I doubt my dad will get me one for my bday. He's already getting a computer and Fios for the house, which means I'll be returning to you all very soon.

School's been rough, but I'm getting in the swing of things. Miss having a job, but time to look for something. The search keeps me from being lazy.

Gym tomorrow. Must go, haven't really been much this week. :/

Daltrey Pictures, Images and Photos

Happy birthday you beautifully obliviously amazingly brilliant beautiful man. I'm celebrating, are you?

Just because I should show you some more love than normal. )

2/17/09 02:35 pm - Oh the madness

So I gave in and got a twitter thing. 'Cause I update my facebook too much.

http://twitter.com/themadcaplaughs

So yeah. xD This is what happens when I skip class.

2/14/09 12:51 pm

Ended a relationship on Feb. 13th because of feelings (those of which I can never act on) for a man (who would never be desperate enough to look in my direction).

Happy Valentine's Day.

I have The Smiths and The Cure to keep me company until work. Thank Pete we discontinued the heart shaped pizzas.

2/13/09 01:06 pm

I can fit into my Cure shirts again!!!!!!!
