I am the heart that you call home.

11/26/09 02:34 pm - listening to "The Kinks - Victoria" on Blip

Long ago, life was clean. Sex was bad and obscene. And the rich, were so mean.

GUESS WHO GOT A NEW FUCKIN' COMPUTER

BOOM.

10/19/09 10:49 pm - "It was late at midnight..."

Okay, so I'll be alive after this week.

Today I worked from 8:50a - 6:10p. Left for work at 7:30a, and got home around 7 something pm.

Tomorrow is school from 9:30a - 7:15p. Piece due for Creative Non-Fiction. Not too hard. 'Bout to make myself a drink and punch it out. The Survey of Poetry Midterm which is supposed to be crazy hard. Maybe Viento for some tea and an open mic afterwards.

Wednesday - more work and somehow try to accomplish a paper for Comparative Revolution Change. :/

Thursday - school school school. Then Poet's Lounge to go support Mae.

Friday - work work work. Gym after work? Maybe swimming? Then have to get started on Ariel. Shouldn't be hard. I love Plath. And need to reread Ferlinghetti's A Coney Island Of The Mind and make myself familiar with Michael McClure.

The week seems so short when I look at it like this.

Oh wait.

That's the procrastination kicking in.

10/16/09 10:11 pm - Holy Fuck

Roger Keith "Syd" Barrett: January 6th, 1946 - July 7th, 2006

I think I'm so sad, I can't put together pictures like I did for John. I still remembering finding out about his death like it was yesterday.

At least you're not sick or in pain anymore.
:(

Little tribute to come later when I have the energy.

This album is amazing. It's the Syd Barrett Tribute that David Gilmour, Rick Wright and David Bowie did. It's a few songs from the On An Island tour, and David sounds like he's crying during Dark Globe.

6/26/09 11:54 pm - John Alec Entwistle, 9 October 1944 – 27 June 2002

The world is so much dimmer (and quieter) without you. We miss you.

So by the time I taught myself the bass guitar at the age of 14, my hands were already pretty nimble. - John Entwistle )

Edit:
I didn't want to push down my post about John, so I'll add this here - though it doesn't seem too appropriate.

Here's my record collection, up on my facebook. Feel free to take a look and add me if you feel like it.

6/26/09 02:01 pm - Johnny never went marchin' home.

I haven't participated in a meme in ages. Here's one:

Now a meme.
+ Leave me a comment saying "MICK JAGGER TOTALLY JUST COVERED SEXY BACK".
+ I'll respond by asking you five questions so I can get to know you better.
+ Update your journal with the answers to the questions.
+ Include this explanation in the post and offer to ask other people questions.

The questions [info]erizabeff asked me:

1. What color would we paint the harem? I think Donovan and Syd are going to be in charge of painting the harem. Y/Y?
2. Should we have blinds or curtains at the harem? Curtains, because all those jealous groupies would be able to peer through blinds. But we could have like, blackout curtains and cover them with really pretty fabric on the inside. Besides the amazing sunlight is a bitch when you're hungover, and I bet everyone residing at the harem will agree with me.
3. Should we have pink flamingos or lawn gnomes? Either way they're going to get blown up.
4. Do you think there's a way to keep Moonie from esploding the fountain? *points at flamingo/gnome question*
5. What shall it be chocolate or soda? Uhhh... Chocolate soda. Duh.

6/24/09 08:35 pm - "You pick the place and I'll choose the time. And I'll climb the hill in my own way."

So I haven't been here for ages.

I don't really know what to post about.

100.3 the Sound is playing Floyd's album "Meddle" which warms my heart. But sadly on Album Sides Wednesday, they only play one side the whole way through. And they're playing side 1. Which is awesome, but not as awesome as side 2. I could have really gone for some Echoes coming from my radio. It would have fulfilled my life.

I guess I'll start getting back into the swing of things. But for now this might be it.

5/28/09 01:45 pm - "Mother did it need to be so high?"

Wanted to see who else could guess these.

Step 1: Put your music player on shuffle.
Step 2: Write down the first line(s) of the first 25 songs that play. (No matter how embarrassing)
Step 2a: Skip any song that has the title in the first line. (That ruins the point of the game) I'm just going to skip the part that they mention the song name, rather than the whole song.
Step 2b: Skip any song with no lyrics. (That makes guessing it rather hard.)
Step 3: Strike through the line when someone guesses it right.
Step 4: Looking them up is CHEATING!

1. "Crest fallen sidekick in an old cafe, never slept with a dream before he had to go away."
2. "You're such a wonder that I think I'll stay in bed."
3. "Though the world was hard and it's ways were set, he was young and he had so much ambition." [info]imalumberjack27 The Kinks - Arthur
4. "She ran into the wall - so sweet and unknown; a worn comatose."
5. "But if you're not coming back, I'll sleep eternally."
6. "I love you, 'cause you tell me all the things I want to know." [info]ringostarr64 The Beatles - Please Please Me
7. "And she told me, of a story yesterday.  About the sweet love between the moon and the deep blue sea." [info]stigma_enigma Jimi Hendrix - Angel
8. "Resting on my laurels and my Hardy's too."
9. "Well the time will come when the wind will shout..." [info]juliabydulia Tom Waits - All Stripped Down
10. "The pangs of your sadness shall pass as your senses will rise."

5/11/09 07:34 pm - I NEED YOUR HELP

This new computer is epic fail. Hardly any music is on it at all (only about 3 1/2 GBs which makes me want to cry - and nothing good).

I lost so many discographies, and all the loves of my life. Which sums up the fact I have basically no Who or Floyd D:< but send me anything and everything you wish to.

HELP ME. SEND ME STUFF TO HELP ME GET THROUGH MY NIGHTS OF ENDLESS CASE STUDY/PAPER WRITING.

Send or whatnot how ever you see fit.

email address: kayla.crow@gmail.com
and all that good stuff.

Normally I'd just use some sort of torrent, but my dad's on a trip about that, and since this is a shared computer, I have to respect his decision.

5/5/09 02:55 pm - Bon anniversaire!

Birthday wishes for Michael Palin. I wanna hear 'em people. >:3
